On January 29, 2026, to mark Mercedes-Benz's 140th anniversary, the new-generation S-Class set off from Stuttgart on a world tour.
260 days. 140 destinations. The China leg traced the eastern coastline southward – departing Beijing, passing through Jinan, Lianyungang, Suzhou, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and Shenzhen, before arriving in Foshan. More than a geographical journey, it was an observation of "modern luxury" seen through China.
Along this southbound route, the Suzhou stop wrote a special footnote: Momenta is honored to be one of the 140 destinations on Mercedes-Benz's world tour.
The Suzhou Stop: Mercedes-Benz and Momenta, Building an Assisted Driving Experience That Is Both Reassuring and Composed
Heading south, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class convoy arrived in Suzhou – home to Momenta, and a place that bears witness to the two companies' deep strategic partnership.
An early mover in intelligent driving, Mercedes-Benz became the first international automaker to invest in Momenta as far back as 2017. Together, the two sides are committed to deeply integrating Mercedes-Benz's century of engineering heritage with Momenta's frontier AI technology, held to the exacting "Mercedes-Benz Standard" – bringing users a safer, more intelligent, and more luxurious mobility experience.
Together, the two sides have built an assisted driving system that fuses reinforcement learning with the Mercedes-Benz Standard – taking Mercedes-Benz from "operating a vehicle like a human" to gradually developing "the intuition of a human driver."
To date, this assisted driving system has already made its debut on the all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA, with availability across China and newly added ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) highway passage support. It will subsequently be extended to the all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric GLC SUV, with parking-spot-to-parking-spot capability planned for the second half of this year.
